Apprenticeship Levy Update – January 2017
The new Apprenticeship Levy starts in May 2017 and will affect most businesses. If you have a payroll of over £3 million a year you will have to pay 0.5% of your payroll costs (you’ll get back £15,000 levy allowance) so you need to be planning now to make the most of this and invest in your business. You’ll need to take charge of this, find training providers, negotiate fees and manage those training providers.

Will My Staff Need Time Off For Training?
They will need to be released from their usual work to focus on their qualifications from time to time. In particular if they are eligible for government funding then they will need time to complete application forms.
They will need a few hours at the beginning of an Apprenticeship or a Functional Skills programme to undertake initial assessment tests to establish what level they are already at so that their programmes can be individual to them. They may also need to sit tests during and at the end of their programmes.
All of this work is carried out on their normal working premises, there is no need for them to have more time off to go to college.

Employer Satisfaction Survey Result Summary 2015/16
In order for TQ Workforce Development to continually review and improve our service to our Employer Partners an annual Employer Satisfaction Survey is carried out from those employers who have received training within the last year. The survey captures our employers’ perceptions of the quality of training we provide and our responsiveness to their needs.
