About Us
TQ Training Group (TQ) is a work based training provider.
We aim to improve the skills and knowledge of everyone who takes part in one of our programmes.
We work on site so there is minimum disruption to the work being done, and work very closely with our partner employers to provide training and development solutions that improve their peoples' performance and their business performance.
Our staff are highly professional, qualified, sector competent and dedicated.
Based in Northamptonshire, we offer nation wide coverage. We have government funding contracts for a range of programmes so can offer full or part funding for a whole range of qualifications.
Formed in 1996, we hold a number of awards including Matrix, EmSkills, and IiP.
Our People
Jane Quarmby is the Chairman and has spent 15 years in the private training sector. The founder of the group, her background was that of a senior civil servant in general management and technical positions. A specialist trainer with strong strategic vision, Jane has built up the company from scratch and is well used to managing change and the machinations of central government
Gordon Hermiston, our Managing Director has an extensive background in the utilities sector and in particular in managing significant growth. He has worked abroad and in the UK. He has been a Finance Director for a number of large PLCs and joined TQ in 2007.
Tracy Phelps is our Assurance and Development Director. Tracy has extensive educational qualifications and sector wide experience. Her team is responsible for the development of new programmes and the quality assurance of all delivery. Tracy worked her way up through the company, joining as a part-time assessor 10 years ago.
Rob Laidlaw, our Operations Manager, oversees the delivery of all programmes and has over 20 years of assessment and training experience.He has an Armed Services background and joined TQ as an assessor in 2007 after running his own company in Security and Transport Logistics.
