The following are quotes from companies who have taken advantage of the Train to Gain initiative:

Widdowson has 85 staff trained to NVQ Level 2 in Warehousing. This has maximised the contribution of employees through their personal development and involvement. It has also improved the level of customer service and provided greater flexibility and operational efficiency.
"The scheme (Train to Gain) provided us with the perfect training solution," says Kara Cragg, HR Assistant at Widdowson.

"The difference in the business is marked," believes Dave Nibloe, the Human Resources Manager at Toyoda. Finding training providers who matched exactly what Toyoda needed made sure the business got value for money from its investment in training. Staff morale improved - and that means better business results: "Participating staff have shown increased enthusiasm which is channelled into their work." Management skills have directly benefited, with investment in developing team leaders. "

A real learning culture developed in Remploy as a result of this focus on developing their people. The business benefits have exceeded all Remploy's expectations: Productivity has increased from a gross profit margin of 49% to 58%. Absenteeism has dropped. A more flexible workforce could take on additional tasks, boosting business success. Wastage was drastically reduced through improvements in the accuracy of unit counts.

Sheldon is convinced of the benefits of having a well-trained team, and says the programme has: Had an impact on productivity. Helped boost the company's annual turnover. Helped his employees acquire new qualifications which will stay with them for life. "I'm doing something for my team to show them how much I appreciate them."
